Stop-motion films for an Instagram campaign to spread the word about Swedish retail company Åhlens’ summer collection.
BACKGROUND:
The advertisement agency Forsman & Bodenfors created an ingenious game to offer incredible discounts for their client Åhlens’ summer collection. The idea was to target a younger audience and give them the opportunity, using only Instagram and the screenshot function on smartphones to not just spread the word about Åhlens but also get special pricing on select items.
THE CASE:
Snask directed and produced stop-motion films where Åhlens’ products flashed by at high speed within mini-stories of summer fun. And if users were fast enough to capture an item in a screenshot and send it, the reward was compelling: a half-price discount on that item. Thousands of people posted screenshots of Åhlens’ products, which promoted the new collection among all their followers and friends. Plus, it was fun to play the game! This marketing marvel was a huge success thanks to Snask’s quick editing skills.
